Home health OTA and COTA jobs across Texas

Occupational therapy assistant contracts in the home, on the schedule you set.

Occupational therapy assistants deliver the treatment plan in the patient’s home, which in practice means you are the one who sees whether last week’s strategy survived contact with real life. The tub bench that was going to solve bathing, the pill organiser the patient has stopped using — that information comes from the visits you are making.

These are 1099 contracts across Texas. You choose your visits, days, and coverage area, and the evaluating occupational therapist remains available to adjust the plan as you report change.

What the work involves

  • Carrying out the established OT plan of care — ADL retraining, functional activity, and therapeutic exercise in the home.
  • Reinforcing adaptive equipment use and compensatory strategies, and reporting what is and is not working.
  • Training family members and caregivers who provide support between visits.
  • Documenting each visit in our EMR, with AI assistance so charting stays inside the working day.

Pay, schedule, and support

  • You set the caseload. As a 1099 clinician you choose your visits, hours, and coverage area — from one patient at a time to a full load.
  • Per-visit pay, paid weekly. Competitive per-visit rates at or above market, with weekly direct deposit and transparent payroll.
  • Charting that ends with your day. Our own EMR has AI assistance built in so documentation does not follow you home.
  • We handle the back office. Scheduling, authorisations, and billing are ours. Clinical support is available 24/7.

What you need

  • NBCOT certification, CPR certification, and current professional liability coverage.

Questions occupational therapist assistants ask

Do you use the title OTA or COTA?

Both refer to the same role. Texas licenses occupational therapy assistants; COTA is the NBCOT certification designation, and we ask for the current Texas licence plus NBCOT certification.

Is there enough OTA work to stay busy?

We route patients by the coverage area you give us and have referral volume across Texas, so the constraint is usually how many visits you want rather than how many are available.

How quickly can I start?

After credentialing, which has to finish before your first visit: licence verification, background screening, exclusion-list checks, and health requirements including TB screening.
