Home health PTA jobs across Texas

Physical therapist assistant contracts in the home, with the schedule and territory you set.

Physical therapist assistants carry out the treatment plan between the evaluating PT’s visits, and in home health that is where most of the patient’s progress actually happens. You are in the house often enough to notice what changed since last week — a rug that became a trip hazard, a spouse who has started doing too much of the transfer.

These are 1099 contracts across Texas. You choose the number of visits, the days, and the coverage area, and the supervising physical therapist stays available to you rather than being someone you only meet on paper.

What the work involves

  • Delivering the established plan of care — therapeutic exercise, gait and transfer training, and functional mobility work in the home.
  • Progressing patients within the plan and reporting change back to the supervising PT so the plan can be adjusted.
  • Coaching family members and caregivers, who are the ones present between visits.
  • Documenting each visit in our EMR, with AI assistance to keep charting inside the working day.

Pay, schedule, and support

  • You set the caseload. As a 1099 clinician you choose your visits, hours, and coverage area — from one patient at a time to a full load.
  • Per-visit pay, paid weekly. Competitive per-visit rates at or above market, with weekly direct deposit and transparent payroll.
  • Charting that ends with your day. Our own EMR has AI assistance built in so documentation does not follow you home.
  • We handle the back office. Scheduling, authorisations, and billing are ours. Clinical support is available 24/7.

What you need

  • Current Texas physical therapist assistant licence in good standing.
  • CPR certification and current professional liability coverage.
  • Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
  • Credentialing before the first visit, including licence verification, background screening, and exclusion-list checks.

Questions physical therapist assistants ask

Can I work PRN around another job?

Yes — that is one of the most common arrangements here. As a 1099 contractor you can take as little as one patient at a time and increase the load whenever you want to.

Who supervises my visits?

The evaluating physical therapist owns the plan of care and remains your point of contact for progressing or changing it, with clinical support available 24/7.

Which parts of Texas have PTA work?

We recruit in 30 Texas markets, including Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Lubbock, Tyler, Waco, and Beaumont. Coverage follows referral volume, so ask about your area even if it is not listed.
