Apply for this Position

About the Role

Our Houston SLPs work across the full scope of the profession — pediatric speech delays, adult post-stroke recovery, voice restoration after laryngectomy, cognitive-communication therapy, and AAC device training. Our coordinated dysphagia program with in-house dietitians gives patients integrated diet-texture + swallow plans that work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders
  • Design and deliver individualized plans of care in patients’ homes
  • Coordinate dysphagia cases directly with our in-house registered dietitians
  • Provide AAC evaluation and device training for patients who need it
  • Document visits in our proprietary EMR on day of service
  • Collaborate with OT, PT, nursing, and social work through shared-patient rounds
  • Educate patients and family caregivers on home carryover strategies

Requirements

  • Active Texas SLP license + ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver’s license with clean MVR
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience (home health, acute, or school preferred)
  • Dysphagia experience strongly valued; voice and AAC specialty a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish valued given Houston’s patient demographics

Why Universal Rehab in Houston

Our Houston SLPs get something rare: real interdisciplinary collaboration. Shared-patient rounds with OTs and dietitians happen routinely, not once a quarter. That means dysphagia patients get an SLP safe-swallow plan coordinated with an RD's texture-modified meal plan, not two siloed recommendations that never reconcile. Explore the full scope of our speech pathology services to see how that integration plays out.

What Speech Pathology Looks Like in Houston

Houston's diversity drives SLP caseload breadth. You'll see pediatric speech delays in Katy families, stroke recovery patients across the Texas Medical Center catchment, post-laryngectomy voice restoration cases from across the metro's oncology landscape, dysphagia work across skilled-nursing-to-home transitions, and AAC evaluations supported by school-based programs. The city is also home to significant Spanish-language and Vietnamese-language patient populations, making multilingual SLPs especially valuable.

Schedule, Pay, and Benefits

  • Choose your caseload size — we respect that SLP visits often take longer than scheduled
  • Weekly direct-deposit payroll with transparent per-visit rates
  • Proprietary EMR with SLP-specific documentation templates
  • Continuing-education support for dysphagia certifications, voice specialties, and AAC
  • Real coordinated care with in-house RDs and OTs
  • Active referral incentive program for clinicians on payroll
