About the Role

Our Houston RDs deliver medical nutrition therapy to patients whose diagnoses actually respond to dietary intervention. • Provide dietary staff training for partner facilities and group homes as needed
  • Document visits in our proprietary EMR
  • Educate family caregivers on meal planning and therapeutic diet compliance

Why Universal Rehab in Houston

Our Houston RDs do real clinical nutrition, not printouts. Every visit is a home visit — you see what's actually in the fridge, what the caregiver is actually cooking, what barriers the patient actually faces. That context is what makes our dietitian services different. Integrated care with our SLPs on dysphagia and our RNs on enteral/parenteral cases means the plan actually fits the patient.

What Dietitian Work Looks Like in Houston

Houston's patient base keeps RD caseloads varied and complex. You'll manage poorly-controlled Type 2 diabetes in patients who've been cycling through emergency rooms, CKD patients new to dialysis, oncology nutrition for cancer patients transitioning home, and tube-feeding management for stroke and head-and-neck patients. The metro is anchored by the Texas Medical Center, which gives you a sense of the depth and complexity of the clinical landscape you're stepping into. The city's cultural diversity — Mexican, Vietnamese, West African, South Asian — means culturally appropriate meal planning is a real skill here, and patients notice immediately when their RD respects their food traditions instead of handing them a generic diet sheet.

Schedule, Pay, and Benefits

  • Caseload flexibility — full-time, part-time, or per-diem
  • Weekly direct-deposit payroll with transparent per-visit rates
  • Proprietary EMR with RD-specific assessment templates
  • Continuing-education support for renal, oncology, and pediatric specialty certifications
  • Active referral incentive program for clinicians on payroll
  • Interdisciplinary team that actually integrates dietary recommendations into plans of care
