Home health registered dietitian jobs across Texas

Medical nutrition therapy contracts, delivered where the patient’s actual food is.

A nutrition plan written in an office competes with whatever is already in the patient’s cupboard. Seeing the kitchen changes the plan — what they can afford, what they can cook, what they can physically reach, and who does the shopping.

Universal Rehab contracts registered dietitians to home health, hospice, and HCS and waiver provider agencies across Texas. Positions are 1099, so you choose the caseload, the days, and the coverage area.

What the work involves

  • Nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy for complex diagnoses including diabetes, renal disease, and heart failure.
  • Individualised meal planning built around the patient’s real budget, access, and cooking ability.
  • Malnutrition and unintentional weight-loss screening, and enteral nutrition support where indicated.
  • Patient and caregiver education, and coordination with the nursing and therapy disciplines on the case.

Questions registered dietitians ask

Is there steady dietitian work in home health?

Dietitian caseloads are smaller than therapy caseloads and vary by area. It suits a clinician who wants contract visits alongside other work rather than a full week from one source.

What kinds of diagnoses would I see?

Largely diabetes, renal disease, heart failure, and malnutrition or unintentional weight loss, across home health, hospice, and waiver programmes.
