About the Role

Our Dallas OTs take a whole-person approach — physical recovery combined with cognitive, psychological, and environmental factors. You design individualized plans, conduct home safety assessments, collaborate with our PTs, SLPs, and social workers, and document through our proprietary EMR. One-on-one patient time and no productivity caps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat OT patients in their homes across Dallas County
  • Design plans of care for ADL retraining, upper-extremity rehab, cognitive recovery, and home safety
  • Conduct home safety assessments and recommend adaptive equipment
  • Support patients with emotional, psychological, and psychiatric disorders where indicated
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team (PT, SLP, RN, CSW, RD)
  • Document visits in our proprietary EMR on day of service
  • Educate family caregivers on transfer technique, adaptive strategies, and routine-building

Requirements

  • Active Texas Occupational Therapist license
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver’s license
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience (home health, neuro, or hand preferred)
  • Experience with cognitive rehab, psychiatric OT, or IDD populations valued
  • Bilingual Spanish appreciated

Why Universal Rehab in Dallas

Dallas OTs on our team get something rare in North Texas home-health: an OT-founded company that treats occupational therapy as the central discipline, not an adjunct to PT. Our OT service line covers the full scope — physical, cognitive, emotional, psychiatric, pediatric, IDD. Dallas' patient population gives you plenty of each.

What Occupational Therapy Looks Like in Dallas

Dallas is big, and home-health OT caseload here reflects that breadth — complex neuro recovery patients, post-hand-surgery clients, aging-in-place work across the city's older single-family-home neighborhoods, and IDD home-habilitation support through Texas waiver programs. The metro's academic medical anchor at UT Southwestern Medical Center gives you a sense of the depth of post-acute work flowing into home-health across Dallas County. The cognitive-rehab subset is growing fast as Dallas' population ages. If you've been wanting to practice across the full OT scope instead of being pigeonholed into one patient type, Dallas has the volume to support that.

Schedule, Pay, and Benefits

  • Caseload size and geographic coverage you help shape
  • Weekly direct-deposit payroll with transparent per-visit rates
  • Proprietary EMR designed by clinicians
  • Continuing-education support for specialty certifications
  • Active referral incentive program for clinicians on payroll
  • 24/7 clinical support line
