Apply for this Position

About the Role

Our Dallas SLPs work across the full profession — pediatric speech delays, adult post-stroke aphasia, dysphagia, voice therapy, and AAC. Our interdisciplinary integration means dysphagia cases get coordinated safe-swallow + texture-modified-diet plans, not siloed recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders in the home
  • Coordinate dysphagia cases with our in-house registered dietitians
  • Provide AAC evaluation and device training where needed
  • Document visits in our proprietary EMR on day of service
  • Collaborate with OT, PT, and nursing through shared-patient rounds
  • Educate patients and family caregivers on home carryover strategies
  • Cover Dallas County and surrounding North Texas suburbs

Requirements

  • Active Texas SLP license + ASHA CCC
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver’s license
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience (home health, acute, or school preferred)
  • Dysphagia experience strongly valued; voice and AAC specialty a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish appreciated

Why Universal Rehab in Dallas

Dallas home-health SLPs typically work alone with minimal team contact. Our model is different — shared-patient rounds with OTs and dietitians happen routinely, and dysphagia cases get integrated care from day one. Our speech pathology service line is built around that coordination.

What Speech Pathology Looks Like in Dallas

Dallas' healthcare density drives a rich SLP caseload. Post-stroke aphasia, post-laryngectomy voice restoration, dysphagia management, cognitive-communication therapy, and pediatric language delays all show up in home-health SLP work across the metro. The academic medical environment around UT Southwestern Medical Center and the broader hospital system reflects the complexity of cases SLPs encounter here. Cognitive-communication therapy is a growing subset as Dallas' population ages, and dysphagia caseloads stay steady given the volume of stroke, Parkinson's, and post-surgical discharges across the metro. If you want SLP variety, Dallas delivers.

Schedule, Pay, and Benefits

  • Caseload size you control (SLP visits often run longer — we respect that)
  • Weekly direct-deposit payroll
  • Proprietary EMR with SLP-specific templates
  • CEU support for dysphagia, voice, and AAC specialty certifications
  • Interdisciplinary rounds with in-house RDs and OTs
  • Active referral incentive program for clinicians on payroll
